11th
Annual Strategy and the Business Environment (SBE) Conference
May 9-10, 2011
The Wharton School
We welcome you to the eleventh annual
research conference on "Strategy and the Business Environment" that will be held
at the Wharton School on May 9-10, 2011. The objective of this conference
is to explore the interrelationships between the business strategies of firms
and the social, legal, and political environment in which they operate.
The conference will bring together scholars interested in integrating business
environment issues and business strategy.
The strategic management of political, social, and legal risks
and opportunities is a crucial driver of relative firm performance. Successful
strategies not only respond to the current and expected future business
environment but also seek to influence that environment.
This year the Strategy and the Business Environment Conference
will occur concurrently with the
Alliance for Research on
Corporate Sustainability Third Annual Conference held at Wharton May 9-11,
2011. A joint dinner (May 9) and day of paper session(s) (May 10) will include
attendees at each event. To be included in the joint session(s), papers had to be submitted to, and accepted by both conferences.
